Who We Are

The Nova Star Awards recognize outstanding young performers in the areas of Film, Television and Commercials. The ceremony takes place in Toronto, Canada, also dubbed  ‘Hollywood North’ due to the massive amount of movie production that takes place in the City. Nova Star Awards are open to global submissions!

The Gala is a formal event where young performers and their families come together to recognize and celebrate all of the incredible talent in the industry. This event is filled with delicious food, professional photos, award ceremonies and opportunities to network with colleagues and other professionals within the industry.

THE TEAM BEHIND THE NOVA STAR AWARDS
Loralie, Tara and Vanessa are a dynamic and compassionate team of working moms with children in the biz! Between their children the moms have been on the sets of feature films, tv series, at voiceover recordings, live theatre productions and motion capture studios.
Loralie is a realtor, and HR Professional. She has three daughters who are all very active in the acting industry.  Tara is a full time school teacher, educating children in grades 7 to 12.  She has worked in front of the camera with her daughters and on her own. Her two daughters keep her very busy with auditions and work. Vanessa  owns TDC Entertainment, an event and entertainment company providing entertainment, and event management services for large scale events across North America.  Her two boys work in all aspects of acting, and she enjoys every minute of being on set with them.
These three moms can be found at auditions, workshops, on set, or enjoying great conversations with other industry parents. Their common interest of providing positive experiences for their kids, and others in the industry is what brought about the concept of the NOVA STAR AWARDS.
The Nova Star awards will bring together a panel of industry judges and talented youth performers to celebrate their achievements. It will be an afternoon of networking, fun, and an opportunity to meet other families in the biz!
